You know, I had totally thought of the fact that Charles would be part of Shaw's "people to kill" group, but like Erik, I too neglected to connect it to the fact that he'll die right away if Shaw pulls off this spell. I think because the story had gotten me so focused on the students rather than the teachers themselves - which was clearly also the case for Erik (that and his mind not syncing with the idea of Charles dying).
So, basically...oh shit.
P.S. I'm also really impressed that you're a new-to-lj author. You've done such an incredible job writing this story, I was expecting you to be one of the biggest writers on the kink meme!
