Important Moderator Post

I've had a couple of PM's and messages regarding fill lists and a better search function to find old posted fills. Which, really, is a necessity in a kink meme and I apologize for not working to rectify this sooner. I've been looking through the different bookmarking sites and have decided to keep it to Delicious for the time being. Diigo tends to block NSFW links, while I don't have much usage with pinboard (although it can be xposted there once Delicious is updated). Because I don't have the password for the old Delicious I've started a new one that will start off from when the last one was updated. And that was round 3, so we are WAY behind. This is the time when any interested parties can feel free to post here or PM me if you want to help. I'm going to be starting it, and can pass that off to a few helpers once it gets back up on its feet.
Secondly, both the WIP and completed fill posts are... lacking. I need everyone to please start posting the links to your WIP and completed fills so that bookmarking can be completed faster and so that people who don't wish to use external bookmarking sites can easily access or find completed or lost fills. I'm not sure if I should start new posts for these, so for now I'll keep them where they are.
Finally, I've seen a lot of [repost] prompts. I have no issue with the rate they're being posted, even if it's from only one or two rounds ago. With the length between rounds I think it's only fair to be allowed to post old prompts. If, however, the meme sees an influx of people surrounding the new movie, I may start having to be more strict about that. But for now, repost! I love that the kink meme seems to be more active than it's been in a while and that is making me VERY happy.
Anyone who visits this meme and who also has tumblr, please feel free to xpost this over there. I want our fellow tumblr followers to also see that bookmarking is being updated.

I've taken into consideration everyone's varying concerns regarding the time between rounds. While I do agree that two days might be too short, I think, for the time being, we are going to keep it at less than a week and start off the weekend with a new round.
If anyone would like to post to other blogging platforms such as tumblr, dreamwidth, to let people know the round is closed just in case people aren't following the kink_meme that would be lovely.

STATUS OF ROUND 10: PERMANENTLY CLOSED Round 10 is now closed to new prompts. Round 11 will open 3 days from now, at approximately 4 PM EDT on Friday.

As some of you noticed, the community lost bothstarkmodistries and firstkinkmod as mods about a month ago as they felt it was necessary to step down due to real life priorities, which understandably come first. I'd like to thank them both for their help running this community at its busiest!
Since the community had slowed down a bit since the initial rush, I felt it would be okay to wait a bit before looking for a new mod. In the meantime,firstclassecret stepped up to help, mostly in decision making and brainstorming. But now that leaves us with a spot for a new mod who is available to help with the typical day to day tasks.
The community is running fairly smoothly right now, with a few minor scuffles here and there, so my main priority is getting the delicious/pinboard account up to date (or as close to that as possible). The new mod will be in charge of that, with my help. For those wondering, as a result of the numerous and tedious changes to delicious, we are leaning towards pinboard as our primary platform at the moment. The mod must be familiar with both platforms (or be willing to learn) and have an interest in getting this project going. And remember that volunteers will be available to help!
If you are interested in joining the mod team, please get in touch with me through PM or email at xm.firstkink @ gmail . com. Comments here will be screened just in case.
Also, I'd like to give some love to the anon (or anons!) who vigilantly helps mod the community by linking us to problems, missing warnings, missing subject lines, everything. Unfortunately, things sometimes fall through the cracks so your help is invaluable!

New layout!
Dec. 21st, 2011 09:27 amfirstkinkmod.livejournal.comHi, everyone! We've just changed the layout to a full-width, scaleable layout that more closely resembles the old S1 style. There are still a few bugs and tweaks that we're trying to work out, but for the most part it seems to be settled.
If you are experiencing any problems seeing/using the layout, or have helpful suggestions, please direct them to this post. Also, if you're using a mobile device and can't get the layout working, that's useful information as well. Thanks for your patience!

We're sorry to say that as mods, we still don't have the power to fix this automatically -- the usability of subject lines will, if LJ pushes the changes through tomorrow (Dec. 20), drop to nothing.
To sum up the changes that will happen:
For now, what we recommend is for you to bookmark your favorite threads so you can find them again if/when the subject lines disappear. We realize this is not ideal and will not help with viewing the meme's individual comment pages, but it is one way to make sure you will not lose track of the threads you are currently following.
If these changes do happen we ask that you take heed to this new rule. The first line of every comment must contain exactly what you would find in the subject line: the pairing and any trigger warnings, and if it is a fill, the numbered part.
Unfortunately, Dreamwidth does not support the importing of communities at this time, so we will be unable to make a backup there.
And finally, if anyone has suggestions on S2 styles that could be useful or related info, please drop us a comment.
