Fill: Judging A Book By the Wrong Cover 8B, SlutShaming, Rumors, Attempted NonCon, Sexual Harassment

“Actually, I don’t think Charles is going have to worry about Oxford at all, since you’re reasons for expelling him are based entirely on false pretenses,” Hank explains as he saunters over to them, Alex, Armando, Sean, and the rest all lined up behind him and twisting around until they circled Shaw, Ms. McTaggert forming the end of the other line. Emma is nowhere in sight, but hopefully there will be enough evidence in his favor even without her admitting to all the rumors she’d spread. “You see, I never actually slept with Charles, either at school or at Sean’s house.”

“Neither did I, he just helped with my math homework,” Alex tells Shaw with a bright smile, one hand clasped around Darwin’s waist. Darwin confirms the same with a quick nod, fingers gazing down at Alex with the same sort of fondness one normally only found in old married couples. It would be sickening if Charles didn’t know exactly how the other boy felt, his own eyes lingering on Erik for a moment as he heard Betsy and Bobby and Angel all confirm that they had never so much as touched Charles while on school grounds.

“Nah man, I didn’t sleep with Charles, he’s not really mature enough for my tastes,” Sean answers with a quick glance at Ms. McTaggert, and then he does something with his mouth that Charles is pretty sure is supposed to be sexy, but looks more like a fish gasping its last breath. So much for maturity.

“Like I would ever touch him,” Janos mutters sulkily, gaze locked on his own reflection in his patent leather shoes. St. John, agrees just as readily that he never slept with Charles, though John’s wink at the end of implies that he would’ve if Charles had been willing. If the bleacher closest to St. John trembles in response, no one says anything about it.

Fred explains that he'd lied with a fearful urgency that seemed more suited to someone accused of murder. Charles glanced over at Erik in a look that he meant to be disapproving, but doesn’t quite manage anything but amused. He kept me from flackzi, Charles. There was no room for mercy.

Charles tries to keep his expression contrite, but the snort of laughter that follows kind of ruins the image. Shaw’s nostrils flare in annoyance, and before Charles can so much as breathe, the man has grabbed him by the shoulders, grip tight enough that Charles is positive he’ll wake up with black and purple handprints as shoulder pads tomorrow. “Do you think this is funny, Xavier? Because your clients little confessions haven’t exactly convinced me of your innocence.”

Charles lets out a deep breath and glances at Erik, who is shaking with rage, the light fixtures behind him pointing toward Shaw and slowly pulling free from the cords. But before Erik could move the lights an inch, Ms. McTaggert had grabbed Shaw by the backs oh his arms, pulling him with a shocking ease.

Apparently all those rumors about her being former CIA might have had some truth in them after all.

“You do not touch students that way, principal Shaw, no matter what you might think of their extracurricular activities,” Ms. McTaggert snarls at him, gaze so cold that Shaw actually looked a way for a second, though his mask of gentility is back in place when he meets her gaze again. “Charles has been a model student outside of the last few weeks, as are most of these kids. I see no reason to doubt them when they say this was an extremely distasteful, but ultimately harmless scheme.”

Shaw doesn’t look cowed in the least however, the smile he gives Moira tinged with both pity and condescension. “I can see why you’d fall for his lies, Charles has his charms and you are only human. But there are clearly rumors about this young man that I’ve heard that you haven’t been privy to, Ms. McTaggert. Miss Frost-“
