Oh, this ending has absolutely shattered me! Just perfect, and happy in a way I never thought we'd get.

And I'd like to think that Charles did believe Erik when he said he was going to let him go anyway, even without the intervention of Kurt and Azazel and Emma, because after all, Erik's never even given the slightest hint previously that he was thinking of that, and therefore even to just say it should tell Charles that it's the truth.

But oh, two and a half years...

A total triumph, is what this is!

I'm so glad you liked the ending - it was a bit of a balancing act to get to but I really wanted it to be open and hopeful without undermining everything that came before. Thank you so much for sticking with me and for your lovely comments! I am blushing over here :D
