This is certainly very thought-provoking. I like that Charles doesn't jump on the D/S bandwagon immediately, but eases into it in a way that's completely him.

Oooh, thought-provoking! Glad you found it that way. Headcanon for this verse is that Charles takes a loooong time to ease into the D/s aspect of his relationship with Erik. It happens gradually, and eventually escalates to a point where Charles goes "!" and then he really sets out to educate himself and has a lengthy conversation with Erik. The fill definitely condenses the time elapsed here by a great deal.

I suppose the length of time is because I've read a good number of fics where the dom is already settled in their identity and nurtures the sub into finding theirs; I've wanted to see it happen the other way, with the sub helping the dom find their way.
