Prompt: So First Class Charles is much freer about some questionable uses of his powers than some of his later incarnations. He's also probably not 100% with them yet, given that he's still young.
This led me to thinking of Charles trying to recruit Reid (because he's a mutant and potentially useful because of his job/his Chemistry dissertation was about mutations/whatever). Charles is clumsy about it and Reid's never met another mutant. The end result is that Reid is more convinced that he's having auditory hallucinations than he is of the existence of super-powered humans. Things get worse from there. (Then they get better?)
