I imagine that if Charles had been a woman , things would have been very different, being a female genius telepath in the 50's and 60's. Her relationship with Raven would be stronger, I think, because they would undestand each other better, and her relationship with Cain might be more violent. I really want to see independent and brilliant ypung Charlotte blowing away everyone at Oxford with her genius and charming confidence,but probably not getting the job as a professor. She does however get fanmail form an admiring young Hank before he begins working for the CIA. They became friends and unite with Raven to help young mutants, creating the school and Cerebro much earlier. Maybe they travel the world , developing their powers and meeting mutants like Logan and little Wanda and Pietro. Cue the First Class movie, with a confused Moira, BAMF Charlotte, obvious Hank, confident Rqven , matchmaking Wanda and Pietro and , of course , a very confused Erik who refuses to admit he's in love with this strong,optimistic teacher who adopted his kids.
