Prompt: So, in the first movie, Charles says he met Erik when he's seventeen. He isn't lying. XMFC Charles projects himself as being in his late twenties so that everyone at Oxford would take him seriously, and he keeps it up for his work with the CIA, since he's being judged enough for being a mutant without adding the teenager bit in there. Everything continues on as it did during the film, but then at some point during training Charles gets knocked and his projection goes down and everyone knows the truth.
Erik thinks it explains why Charles is idealistic and is now torn about taking their relationship further because Charles is so young, the recruits are all thrown by the fact that their leader is younger than them, Moira isn't sure what to tell the CIA about this, and Raven goes into over-protective older sister mode towards everyone else there.
Bonus points if everyone else (except Erik) starts treating Charles like he's their younger brother, much to his chagrin.
