Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you that I loved the call-back you did to the first X-Men movie, with the scene between Rogue and Magneto (and also that bit with Logan). Did you hear that sound just now, Magneto? That was you getting burned.

I'm so glad someone commented on the X-Men movie call-back! I thought the parallel was just too perfect to pass up. I didn't even design it that way, it just was.

The bracelet is soooo awesomeeee. I've already posted on my tumblr about it. MUST REMEMBER to point it out in the notes when I post the next chapter. Feel free to remind me, if I drop the ball.

I was actually expecting Shaw's spell to just not work at all since he'd cast that protection on Charles. But I guess it doesn't quite cover a direct hit.
That protection is actually the only reason he survived at all. Shaw did say it wasn't guaranteed. As you say -- couldn't quite cover a direct hit. (Trivia question, since I might or might not be able to work this into the last chapter -- guess where Charles's lotus is?)

If this is going to end at 24 parts I'm guessing you won't go into much detail about it here, but I still find it an interesting consideration
Actually I do plan on going into it a little. Last chapter is going to be fairly long, in fact. Might end up being two chapters but I'm trying not to let it get out of control, lol.

/joins you in dancing on Shaw's grave

Ooh! It's at the small of his back! (Okay, I should not sound so happy about a spinal cord injury, but I was excited that I figured it out.)

Correct! Which I bring attention to only because I find it a strangely intriguing mental image and therefore needed to share. :)

And now back to work on ze writing...
