Egypt, circa 1290 BC Charles is Anck-su-Namun, the male mistress of Pharaoh Shaw. No men except Shaw is allowed to touch him but he falls in love with the high priest Erik, who is someone like Shaw's right hand. They start to have an affair but Shaw discovers their tryst. Together (or only Erik) they kill the Pharaoh and try to escape but the guards of the Pharaoh find them. Charles says Erik should run and he will distract the guards. Erik doesn't know what Charles will do but only few minutes later he sees Charles suicide.
Mad for grief he trys to re-animate Charles with magic but the guards find him and kill him.
Egypt, 1926 (or present time) The librarian Hank and his best friend (or sister) Raven find a map which show the way to the forbidden town. Together with treasure hunter Alex (and later Azazel, a Medjai, one of the Muslim descendants of the royal guards) they try to find the town. Accidently Hank awakes Erik and they try to stop him because they believe he wants to kill them all but then... they find out he only wants to be reunited with his big love.
At the end they help him. Maybe they help him to see Charles for a last time or they both get reanimate to live together in the present time, idk I only want a happy end for Charles/Erik with side pairing Hank/Alex (and maybe Raven/Azazel).
