Prompt: So I know we've had a bunch of awesome Regency prompts (and fills!) but what I'd really like to see is some Charles/Erik (and any other pairings that take your fancy, I'm not fussy) using the plot of a Georgette Heyer novel.
I was actually inspired by beginning a re-read of Frederica - Charles comes to London trying to make a good marriage for one of his many younger siblings, and appeals to his very distant cousin Erik for help! Erik wants to annoy his sisters (Emma and Angel?) and agrees. Cue chaos via younger siblings! Except not quite the same as Frederica, because half that plot hinges around Charis and Endymion being gorgeous but rather dim, and none of the XMFC characters are anything like that bad. But there are a bundle of other ways to run that. Say Moira is Erik's heir, and Emma and Angel don't like her because she's human. Raven is Erik's favourite sister who married someone untitled and Russian. Hank is Erik's very promising, politically-minded secretary. Or change it up, and have Erik with younger siblings (Lorna, Wanda, Pietro, and Anya?) and Charles the bored Marquis trying to irk his ambitious sisters and fascinated by Erik's good-natured but chaos-inducing family.
But really any of the plots (which make basic sense for Charles and Erik's personalities - e.g. I love These Old Shades to bits, but no) will do. (Hmmm, Cotillion - Erik's grumpy and mean guardian Shaw wants him to become engaged to one of Shaw's nephews and potential heirs, and Erik asks the friendly but unthreatening Charles for a sham engagement so he can have a chance to see London, staying with Charles' pregnant sister Raven and her husband. Or Venetia - Charles has always wanted to see the world, but has to look after his sickly sister Raven until she's old enough to go away to university - then starts a scandalous romance based on a love of Greek literature with the local rake, Lord Lehnsherr, who is rumoured to hold orgies. Bonus for working in the exchange at the end about Charles/Venetia not wanting to be left out. Or - yeah, I've thought about this too much.)
I just want to see some witty, charming, light-hearted Regency romance, with the X-Babies as various younger siblings, debutantes, and friends. It doesn't have to be long, or porny (though that would be welcome!) or follow a whole plot - anything would be marvellous.
