- Expanded rules post. A must read for any new member of the meme.
xmen_firstkink has zero tolerance towards prompts and comments containing personal attacks on other community users and private individuals, bullying, and hate speech. Signed in members who violate this rule will first receive a warning and their comments will be frozen/screened. The second violation will result in banning of that member from the community. Anon comments violating this rule will be deleted.
- Bashing of any kind (character, pairing, RPF, kink) on the meme will not be tolerated.
- If your comment is deleted/screened/frozen and you don't know why, it is up to you to PM a mod or make a comment in the Ask A Mods page.
- Plagiarism will result in an immediate ban.
- Prompt posts will close to new prompts at 5,000 comments.
- There will be a 48 hour break in between rounds.
- One prompt per comment.
- Please follow the correct format (see below).
- When necessary, include trigger warnings in the subject line of a prompt, in each individual part of a fill that requires a warning, and in the link to the fill list. For your reference: Required Warnings.
- If your prompt is missing something, such as a subject or a warning, repost it in its entirety. It is not enough to reply to your own comment with the missing information. The mods will delete the previous duplicate comment. Relatedly, if your prompt does not have enough information to archive it in delicious, it is breaking this rule and will be deleted.
- Prompts can only be reposted from more than two rounds back. When reposting a prompt, make note of it in the subject line and include a link to the original prompt somewhere in the comment. Check the rules post for further guidelines.
- Do not write a prompt into the subject line itself.
- Alphabetize pairings/threesomes/moresomes. (e.g. Charles/Erik/Raven)

FILL: Charles/Erik - Five Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes Part 4b/?
Date: 2012-05-08 03:54 pm (UTC)Four Hundred and Sixty One Thousand Two Hundred Minutes.
Charles is absolutely exhausted and has never been happier to see his desk, collapsing into his chair as soon as he sees it. In the end, he had spent the entirety of last night in front of the late news and then the even later late night movie marking two weeks’ worth of lab reports and quizzes. He always felt a little guilty when it came to delegating work to his TAs, and having been a TA himself Charles knew the workloads were already ridiculous. His shoulders ache and Charles know he did somewhat bring it upon himself for putting it off for so long.
Hank had done his best earlier when it came to offering his assistance and together they had managed to get on top of the lab preparations as well as a decent sized dent into finalizing plans for Hank’s presentation. That had been three hours ago.
Charles lets out a yawn and wonders if he ought to get a cup of tea and answer the accumulating emails in his inbox or whether he should call a cab and go home. He decides that the emails will keep for another day (he isn't optimistic enough to say tomorrow) and Charles very much doubts his students would be awake at this time waiting for his reply. Well, at least the waiting for his reply part anyway.
Hauling himself out of his chair, Charles pulls on his coat and grabs his bag on the way out. It was starting to get a little bit colder now in New York and Charles thinks he will have to break out the red scarf and the fingerless gloves soon despite Raven insisting they made him look like a homeless person.
It is easy to flag down a cab in New York, with how often they are circling for customers. Erik had taken it upon himself to teach him how to whistle one down and to this day, Charles couldn’t quite replicate the shrill pitch that Erik could conjure.
Giving directions was another problem that he had encountered upon realising that his British accent, whilst incredibly alluring and could get him out of trouble 99% of the time, was challenging for New York cabbies to understand.
Charles was optimistic that one day he will meet that 1% that would be able to get him home without having to repeat himself numerous times and resort to giving directions. That tended to piss the cabbies off more when passengers thought they knew the streets of New York better than they did, especially the uppity Englishmen types.
As soon as he gets home, Charles pokes his head inside the fridge in search for sustenance. He takes out the remains of Edie’s cholent and puts it on the stove to simmer when he takes his shower. Ever since moving in with Erik, Charles had been educated in the ways of properly reheating and warming food up – especially if it came to Edie Lehnsherr’s home cooking – without the use of a microwave. It was a lesson that had been well received and the only time Erik deemed him fit to use the stove.
Charles dons one of Erik’s MIT hoodies and a pair of flannel pants then trots off to consume dinner in front of the telly. He lets out a soft sigh as the bowl warms his lap and tears up a plain bagel to have with the stew. Edie had loaded him with food on the way home claiming he was far too skinny and proclaiming she was going to have words with her son for not feeding Charles properly, my poor liebling.
His wallet has grown to exorbitant sizes ever since Erik’s third letter and Charles knows he has read each one at least a hundred times. Moira called it obsessive. Everyone in his elective classes know that during Professor Xavier’s pop quizzes, he would be busy reading one of his love letters again. They called it sweet. Hank however was predisposed to feel apprehensive when it came to Charles’ boyfriend and by proxy the letters he writes as if they had some hidden agenda within the fibres to make his life miserable.
He goes to bed after adding the dishes to his ever growing dirty pile soaking in the sink and pulls the covers up to his chin. Charles runs a cold hand over Erik’s side of the bed and wishes it was warm from the heat of another body. There will only be ten and a bit more months to go and then Erik will be right here where he ought to be. The thought brings a smile to his face and Charles finally lets the exhaustion consume him in a deep sleep.
