Re: FILL: The Better Men (21d/30ish)
Date: 2012-02-06 04:35 pm (UTC)Oh come now, why would Shaw sacrifice a pureblood when a Muggle-born would work just as well?
finding out that Shaw killed his parents (I don't know if he really did here, but it's the sort of thing he'd do).
[sideways glance] ...They're onto me. (But shhh! It's supposed to be a surprise!)
First off, I've got to say that you do a marvelous job of balancing dialogue and description. It's all melded together so smoothly and the pacing is spot-on.
Thank you EVER so much, it's wonderful to get feedback on what's going on in the story but I love to get writing-based critique as well. This kind of praise is important to have when bad days roll around, lol.

Date: 2012-02-07 02:37 am (UTC)Yeah, that was what I kept coming back to. Really, the only basis I had for that conclusion was that Shaw did put the black lotus mark on Scorpius, but it did seem like a pretty straightforward case of "will this spell not kill the people I don't want it to kill?" testing. So it wouldn't have made much sense for Shaw to then turn around and kill him once he's established that Scorpius is part of his "gets to live" group.
