Date: 2012-02-14 08:28 pm (UTC)It was a really hard write, this update, because this was the argument that just would not end. I kept going and going and thinking 'where am I going with this?' and knowing where I wanted to end up but they just kep arguing, and... I'm really pleased with how it turned out, though, and I'm pleased it worked for you.
One of the interesting things with this fic is the different reader opinions regarding who is more right and who is more wrong. Personally, I agree with you - Charles doesn't give Erik enough credit, and nor do the humans. He might not like them but he isn't persecuting them, which for him is a big step. And he hasn't got a lot of room to manoeuvre. It does make for some great arguments, though, and a lot of tension, so I can't complain! Erik has a tough job and he's trying to do a good one, but people make that difficult. Charles is going to have to come around to realise that Erik is trying to be a good person.
