Like, Charles makes them train together and try to communicate and Erik pits the two against each other knowing it'll eventually explode. Maybe he finally gets sick of their stupidity and Charles' way of doing things and locks them in a closet and "I'm not letting you two out until I hear fucking!"

Round 5, Charles/Erik, Shaw -- UNICORNS LOOK I DON'T EVEN KNOW

Prince Erik is in love with Charles, but they can't do it because, you know, unicorns. And because Charles doesn't want Shaw using Raven instead.
But eventually they do it anyway (good job, guys) and Charles gets thrown in prison and Erik gets cast out of the kingdom.
BUT TRUE LOVE PREVAILS, OBVIOUSLY, AND SOMEHOW THEY GET BACK TOGETHER AND OVERTHROW SHAW AND SAVE A BUNCH OF UNICORNS OR SOMETHING.

Round 6; Charles/Erik - Steampunk AU
Date: 2012-01-03 01:16 pm (UTC)Erik is the officer he's placed in the charge of, a frightening but attractive man with a sharp uniform and only one brilliant green eye. In an accident, he lost one eye and his arm beneath the elbow, and he could afford to replace one or the other. He now has a very intricate, realistic prosthetic arm with an interface connecting it to his nervous system, as well as a nifty black eyepatch. He chose the arm over the eye because it's more useful, and the eyepatch makes people respect him more.
Charles becomes Erik's assistant of sorts due to his high intelligence and organizational skill, but he drives Erik nuts with his unconscious habit of sneaking up on his blind side. Still, they begin to talk to one another, Charles makes a great confidant and Erik is willing to listen to Charles' lecturing and personal anecdotes, because everyone else spends too much time treating him like a superior (as they should) to get close to him on a personal level. Their conversations grow more affectionate and intimate, until they're hiding an actual relationship from their team, which is much harder than it sounds.
This, in a preferably futuristic or steampunk setting, with lots of machinery and strange technologies and the like. The more detailed, the better, since I have a bit of a thing for complex machinery (and sharp uniforms *hint*).
Also, bonus for Charles very carefully, almost worshipfully removing the eyepatch to see the scar tissue left beneath, not minding the way Erik's face is marred, stroking his fingertips lightly over the healed wound and asking if Erik can feel it.

Possibly crack, but I remember reading a fic where Shaw calls Charles "my dove." Even if Shaw was being creepy at the time, I always thought it was a fitting moniker for Charles. So, bird fic.
Erik is a hawk (or some small to mid sized bird of prey) who's fascinated by the domesticated dove Charles, living in his gilded cage. A problem arises when Shaw, an eagle (or other large sized bird of prey like an owl or buzzard), also gets interested in little Charles, and sometimes gets in the way when Erik tries to visit.

Charles is Anck-su-Namun, the male mistress of Pharaoh Shaw. No men except Shaw is allowed to touch him but he falls in love with the high priest Erik, who is someone like Shaw's right hand. They start to have an affair but Shaw discovers their tryst. Together (or only Erik) they kill the Pharaoh and try to escape but the guards of the Pharaoh find them. Charles says Erik should run and he will distract the guards. Erik doesn't know what Charles will do but only few minutes later he sees Charles suicide.
Mad for grief he trys to re-animate Charles with magic but the guards find him and kill him.
Egypt, 1926 (or present time)
The librarian Hank and his best friend (or sister) Raven find a map which show the way to the forbidden town. Together with treasure hunter Alex (and later Azazel, a Medjai, one of the Muslim descendants of the royal guards) they try to find the town.
Accidently Hank awakes Erik and they try to stop him because they believe he wants to kill them all but then... they find out he only wants to be reunited with his big love.
At the end they help him. Maybe they help him to see Charles for a last time or they both get reanimate to live together in the present time, idk I only want a happy end for Charles/Erik with side pairing Hank/Alex (and maybe Raven/Azazel).

Pure crack is totally acceptable although it would be great to see some Cherik inside.

Date: 2012-01-12 06:32 am (UTC)So I know we've had a bunch of awesome Regency prompts (and fills!) but what I'd really like to see is some Charles/Erik (and any other pairings that take your fancy, I'm not fussy) using the plot of a Georgette Heyer novel.
I was actually inspired by beginning a re-read of Frederica - Charles comes to London trying to make a good marriage for one of his many younger siblings, and appeals to his very distant cousin Erik for help! Erik wants to annoy his sisters (Emma and Angel?) and agrees. Cue chaos via younger siblings! Except not quite the same as Frederica, because half that plot hinges around Charis and Endymion being gorgeous but rather dim, and none of the XMFC characters are anything like that bad. But there are a bundle of other ways to run that. Say Moira is Erik's heir, and Emma and Angel don't like her because she's human. Raven is Erik's favourite sister who married someone untitled and Russian. Hank is Erik's very promising, politically-minded secretary. Or change it up, and have Erik with younger siblings (Lorna, Wanda, Pietro, and Anya?) and Charles the bored Marquis trying to irk his ambitious sisters and fascinated by Erik's good-natured but chaos-inducing family.
But really any of the plots (which make basic sense for Charles and Erik's personalities - e.g. I love These Old Shades to bits, but no) will do. (Hmmm, Cotillion - Erik's grumpy and mean guardian Shaw wants him to become engaged to one of Shaw's nephews and potential heirs, and Erik asks the friendly but unthreatening Charles for a sham engagement so he can have a chance to see London, staying with Charles' pregnant sister Raven and her husband. Or Venetia - Charles has always wanted to see the world, but has to look after his sickly sister Raven until she's old enough to go away to university - then starts a scandalous romance based on a love of Greek literature with the local rake, Lord Lehnsherr, who is rumoured to hold orgies. Bonus for working in the exchange at the end about Charles/Venetia not wanting to be left out. Or - yeah, I've thought about this too much.)
I just want to see some witty, charming, light-hearted Regency romance, with the X-Babies as various younger siblings, debutantes, and friends. It doesn't have to be long, or porny (though that would be welcome!) or follow a whole plot - anything would be marvellous.
